What our monitor has actually observed

Confirmed reopenings our tracker has caught on the official Alcatraz inventory — historical evidence, not a prediction of when spots will appear again.

—confirmed reopenings
—visit dates affected
—seats returned to inventory

Observation window: tracking started October 2026. One reopening = a previously unavailable date or time slot returning with positive capacity. Counts describe the tours we monitor, not Alcatraz’s complete inventory. How we count →

How to read the official calendar

Sold out

Every departure that day is currently taken. Spots can come back — cancellations drop straight back onto the calendar with no waitlist in between.

Few spots left

Only scattered seats remain, usually at less popular times. If your party is larger than two, book immediately — these go first.

Several spots

Healthy inventory across departures. You can afford to pick your ideal time.

Sold out is often not the last word

Alcatraz visitors cancel and reschedule every single day — plans change, flights shift, people get sick. Each cancellation returns spots to the official calendar instantly. There’s no standby line and no waitlist, so the only way to catch one is to be looking at the right moment.

That’s what we do. SoldOut Watch watches official Alcatraz availability around the clock. When a cancellation reopens a spot on your dates, you get an instant alert with a booking link — free to watch — $19 only when we deliver.

The essentials of an Alcatraz ticket

Where to buy

Only from Alcatraz City Cruises, the National Park Service’s authorized ferry operator, departing from Pier 33. Day Tour runs $47.95 for adults; Night Tour $59.65 (2026 prices, from official inventory).

What’s included

Round-trip ferry, the award-winning cellhouse audio tour (“Doing Time”), and access to the island’s gardens, exhibits, and ranger programs. The Night Tour adds a guided evening program and areas with a very different atmosphere after dark.

Cancellations

Tickets are generally non-refundable but can be rescheduled in many cases — which is exactly why inventory reopens. Check the operator’s current terms when you book.

Questions about Alcatraz availability
